Cortwright Strategies Group exists to help candidates and organizations operate with strategy, clarity, and discipline: whether they are running for office or working to advance policy goals.

We have deep experience working with first-time candidates, helping them navigate every step of launching and building a campaign from the ground up. At the same time, we support experienced candidates, incumbents, and organizations, providing the structure, strategy, and accountability needed to elevate and refine existing efforts.

Jessica Cortwright

Founder + Principal

Jessica currently leads campaign strategy and candidate development at a nonprofit organization, where she works directly with candidates to build and guide campaigns from launch through Election Day. She has managed multiple campaigns, including a successful Indiana State Senate race, and has experience in coordinated campaign field operations, fundraising, and government affairs. Her work includes building campaign plans, guiding fundraising strategy, overseeing voter contact programs, and advising on staff and vendor management.

Alex Cortwright

Co-founder + Senior Advisor

Alex brings experience working in state and local government, including roles with the Indiana State Senate and the City of Indianapolis, as well as involvement in multiple Democratic campaigns at the local, legislative, and statewide level. His campaign experience includes the 2018 coordinated campaign, a successful State Senate campaign in 2020, and a statewide campaign effort in 2020. This combination of campaign and government experience provides valuable insight into both campaign operations and how decisions are made in practice, strengthening strategic decision-making across both electoral and public affairs work.

Together, they bring over two decades of combined experience working across campaigns, government, and public policy. Their backgrounds include work on electoral campaigns, within government offices, and in policy-focused roles supporting elected officials and public initiatives at the local, state, and federal levels.
